SELECTED WORK

A focused portfolio shaped by art, nature and product possibility

Fosca Dalmatica’s portfolio brings together original watercolours, hand-drawn botanical motifs, repeat patterns, placement compositions and selected applications on finished products.

Rather than presenting a large catalogue of disconnected designs, the portfolio focuses on a recognisable artistic direction that can be developed around the needs of a specific brand, product and customer.

Some works are available as existing designs, while others may serve as a starting point for a broader custom collection, including supporting patterns and a coordinated product family.

CREATIVE SIGNATURE

A Mediterranean visual language, developed by hand

Klara Ivanović’s work begins with observation, drawing and painting.

Mediterranean botanical forms, cultivated gardens, weathered surfaces and the changing colours of the coastal landscape are translated into expressive motifs with a tactile, human quality.

Watercolour, ink, painted texture and hand-drawn line remain visible within the final artwork, giving each design a character that is difficult to reproduce through purely digital image-making.

These original elements are then refined through digital pattern development, allowing the artwork to move across different materials, scales and product categories while retaining its artistic identity.

FEATURED DESIGN DIRECTION

Fig Garden

A botanical pattern direction inspired by the quiet abundance of Mediterranean fig gardens.

Fig Garden explores the sculptural leaves, ripening fruit and deep natural contrasts of the Mediterranean fig tree.

Developed from original hand-painted botanical elements, the design balances organic movement with a considered repeat structure. Its natural forms and adaptable colour direction make it suitable for fashion textiles, scarves, resort pieces, decorative fabrics and selected interior applications.

The current hero pattern can be licensed as an existing design or developed further through additional colourways, supporting coordinates and product-specific compositions.

ORIGINAL WATERCOLOUR & DRAWING

Created from original watercolour studies, the hand-painted fig leaves and fruit preserve the organic variation, texture and expressive detail that define the Fig Garden design.

COLOUR & MATERIAL DIRECTION

A soft botanical palette developed to work across natural fibres, printed textiles and tactile interior surfaces while preserving the delicate character of the original watercolour.

INTERIOR TEXTILE APPLICATION

Applied across bedding and soft furnishings, Fig Garden creates a calm botanical environment and demonstrates how the hero pattern could expand into a coordinated interior textile collection.

CUSTOM COLLECTION DEVELOPMENT

Build a visual direction around your product and customer

A strong product collection does not begin with a predetermined number of patterns. It begins with a clear understanding of the brand, customer, product category, and intended market.

For selected collaborations, an existing Fosca Dalmatica design may become the starting point for a wider coordinated collection. Alternatively, a new creative direction can be developed from the initial brief.

Depending on the project, a custom collection may include a hero pattern, supporting coordinates, placement illustrations, alternative colourways and product-specific compositions.

The final structure is defined according to what the product range genuinely requires, rather than adding unnecessary designs to reach an arbitrary number.

A custom collection may include:

• one principal hero pattern
• supporting secondary patterns
• simple coordinates or textural designs
• placement illustrations
• alternative colourways
• scale and composition variations
• artwork adapted to selected product formats

PATTERNS IN APPLICATION

Artwork developed beyond the screen

Fosca Dalmatica’s own silk and resort collections provide real-world examples of how original artwork can be translated into textile products.

The process extends beyond placing a pattern on a mockup. It requires decisions about composition, scale, colour, material, printing and the way artwork changes when it moves, folds or is worn.

Original watercolour illustrations have been developed into silk scarf compositions, repeat patterns, pareos and connected resort pieces. These applications demonstrate the studio’s ability to consider both the artistic character of a design and its relationship with the final product.
